Oscar nominations announced for supporting actor

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The 85th annual Academy Award nominations for supporting actor in a motion picture have been announced in Beverly Hills, Calif., by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The nominees announced Thursday morning are: Alan Arkin, "Argo"; Robert De Niro, "Silver Linings Playbook"; Philip Seymour Hoffman, "The Master"; Tommy Lee Jones, "Lincoln"; Christoph Waltz, "Django Unchained."

The Oscars will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Seth MacFarlane and airing live on ABC.
