Court date in NY hotel maid's suit vs Strauss-Kahn

NEW YORK (AP) — A court date has been set for next week to discuss a New York City hotel maid's sexual assault lawsuit against former International Monetary Fund leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Office of Court Administration spokesman David Bookstaver says the hearing will be held 2 p.m. (1900 GMT) Monday in the Bronx. Strauss-Kahn's lawyers said Friday that the two sides had discussed resolving the case. An attorney for his accuser Nafissatou Diallo declined to comment Tuesday.

The alleged 2011 encounter in a hotel suite forced Strauss-Kahn's resignation from the IMF and ended his potential candidacy for the French presidency. Prosecutors later dropped a criminal case against him, saying the accuser had credibility problems. She says she was truthful. He says whatever happened was consensual.

The Associated Press generally does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault, but Diallo has come forward publicly.
