English rugby union announces record revenue

LONDON (AP) — The English rugby union says it has made more than 150 million pounds for the first time in its history.

The RFU's annual report shows it made 153.5 million pounds ($247 million) over the last cycle, 42.9 million pounds ($69 million) more than the previous period. The RFU's financial upturn has been helped by the national team's Twickenham Stadium, which hosted 25 event days in the past year and made a record profit of 4.9 million pounds ($7.9 million).
