Bjorgen wins women's 5-kilometer race

KUUSAMO, Finland (AP) — Norway's Marit Bjorgen dominated the women's 5-kilometer World Cup cross-country race on Saturday, followed by Kikkan Randall of the United States and Russia's Yulia Tchekaleva.

The 32-year-old triple Olympic champion finished in 12 minutes, 2.9 seconds. Randall was 22.7 seconds behind and Tchekaleva trailed by 24.5. Norwegian skiers took the next five places ahead of Germany's Nicole Fessel in ninth. Finland's Krista Lahteenmaki was 10th.

The men's 10-kilometer cross-country race takes place later Saturday.
