BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) — South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first in its Group B match against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy at Edgbaston on Monday, with both countries seeking a first win of the tournament.
Fast bowlers Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel were still out for the South Africans, who brought in Chris Morris for his ODI debut in place of Rory Kleinveldt after their loss to India on Thursday. Pakistan made one change to the side that lost to West Indies on Friday, with Umar Amin in for Asad Shafiq.
The loser is unlikely to qualify for the semifinals.
