Atletico gets Filipe Luis back from injury

MADRID (AP) — Atletico Madrid says defender Filipe Luis is fit to play after being sidelined for almost three weeks with a leg injury.

The Brazilian left back hasn't played since pulling a muscle in his left leg in a game at Barcelona on Dec. 16. In his third season with Atletico, Filipe Luis has become an important part of coach Diego Simeone's counterattacking style of play.

Atletico is in second place in the Spanish league, nine points behind leader Barcelona. It visits Mallorca on Sunday.
