Peru player Advincula injured in traffic accident

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Hoffenheim says its Peru midfielder Luis Advincula has been injured in a traffic accident.

The Bundesliga club says Advincula's car slid off the road on Thursday morning in Sinsheim, near the team's headquarters. No other car was involved. Advincula is still undergoing tests but so far only "light injuries" have been determined. Spokesman Holger Tromp says Advincula will remain in a hospital under observation.

Advincula signed for Hoffenheim in January and has played one match. Hoffenheim midfielder Boris Vukcevic sustained serious head injuries in a car crash in September and was seven weeks in a coma.
