Greuther Fuerth hires U23 Hoffenheim coach Kramer

FUERTH, Germany (AP) — Greuther Fuerth has hired Frank Kramer from Hoffenheim as its new coach with immediate effect.

Kramer was in charge of the under-23 side in Hoffenheim and coached the Bundesliga team in two games on an interim basis and lost both of them. Greuther Fuerth is last in the Bundesliga and likely to return to the second division after one season. It lost 3-0 at home to Hoffenheim on Saturday to remain seven points from the relegation playoff spot.

The club fired Mike Buskens last month and Ludwig Preis was the interim coach for three games. Kramer once played in Greuther Fuerth and coached its reserve side. He received a contract through June 2015.
