Bayern rotates squad for Leverkusen in Bundesliga

MUNICH (AP) — Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes is rotating his squad for Saturday's Bundesliga game at Bayer Leverkusen following the midweek loss to Arsenal in the Champions League.

Heynckes says he is resting captain Philipp Lahm, striker Mario Mandzukic and offensive midfielder Thomas Mueller, while Franck Ribery is still troubled by the left ankle ligament strain that kept the France winger out of Wednesday's 2-0 loss.

Bayern remained in the Champions League through the away goals rule, but came in for strong criticism from club president Uli Hoeness, who said the team has "been playing pretty rubbish the last three weeks."

Heynckes says Hoeness "has the right to air his opinions." Bayern is 20 points clear of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, with third-place Leverkusen a point further behind.
