Saints fined after accepting misconduct charge

LONDON (AP) — Southampton has been fined 20,000 pounds ($30,000) after accepting a charge of misconduct by the English Football Association for failing to control its players during a Premier League match at Norwich.

Southampton's players complained to referee Mark Clattenburg after Luke Shaw's challenge on Grant Holt led to Norwich being awarded a penalty in stoppage time. The spot kick was saved and the match finished 0-0 on March 9.

After the final whistle, Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino went onto the pitch to confront Clattenburg and his officials.
