ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Costas Mitroglou's second hat trick in two games led defending champion Olympiakos to a 4-0 win over Veria in the Greek league on Saturday.
Mitroglou scored with close-range shots in the 27th and 73rd minutes and from a free kick in the 45th. Javier Saviola opened the scoring in the fourth. Olympiakos conserved energy in the second half ahead of its Champions League debut, at home against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
The win kept Olympiakos at the top of the league with a perfect record after four rounds. PAOK, 2-1 winner at Veria, follows three points behind. Also, Panetolikos and Ergotelis played to a scoreless draw.
