STIP, Macedonia (AP) — A 15-year-old boy who was on leave from a juvenile prison has been arrested in Macedonia for the alleged rape and assault of a 90-year-old woman.

Police on Friday said the boy was arrested in the town of Stip, 90 kilometers (55 miles) southeast of the capital Skopje, after allegedly forcing his way into the retiree's home, attacking her, and running off with 300 denars ($6) he took from her purse. He was identified only by his initials, C.R.

Authorities gave no other details of the incident, but said the victim had been hospitalized and that the 15-year-old had been previously convicted for sexual assault.
