MEXICO CITY (AP) — The lawyer of a Frenchwoman who claims she was unjustly sentenced to 60 years in prison for kidnapping says she could be acquitted soon.

The lawyer for Florence Cassez says Mexico's Supreme Court may order an appeals tribunal to reconsider her case without including "tainted evidence." The Supreme Court will review her case on Wednesday.

Lawyer Agustin Acosta said Tuesday he hopes the justices will discard evidence and testimony from her arrest, which authorities re-enacted for broadcast on national television. Cassez was arrested in 2005 and convicted of helping a kidnapping gang allegedly led by her Mexican then-boyfriend.

She lived at a compound near Mexico City where kidnapping victims were held, but she denies participating in the kidnappings.
