Italian swimming federation signs with Arena again

ROME (AP) — The Italian swimming federation has signed a four-year sponsorship deal with Arena, ending a four-year arrangement with Jaked that began during the high-tech bodysuit controversy.

The deal lasts through December 2016. Terms were not announced. Arena was the federation's official supplier until a much-publicized split shortly before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where many swimmers deserted their sponsors to wear faster suits.

High-tech bodysuits were banned at the start of 2010. Last month, Arena and USA Swimming agreed to an eight-year deal.
