Ukraine retains Euro 2015 hosting rights for now

MUNICH (AP) — Basketball officials are preparing alternate plans if Ukraine is unable to stage the 2015 European Championship.

The FIBA Europe Board, the ruling body of the sport in Europe, says it has agreed to give the Ukrainian federation additional time they require to provide all guarantees needed for the tournament. FIBA says it has reiterated its "support and solidarity" for the Ukrainian federation, while preparing back-up plans if the tournament has to be completely or partially relocated.

A progress report from Ukraine will be presented in May.
