Ex-F1 driver Glock joins German touring car series

MUNICH (AP) — Former Formula One driver Timo Glock will drive a BMW in the German touring car series this season.

BMW said on Friday it was very pleased to have Glock back six years after he was an F1 test driver for the BMW Sauber team. Glock started his career as a junior driver for BMW. He also had a stint in the ChampCar series.

He had three podium places for Toyota in F1 and also drove for Virgin Racing and Marussia, which succeeded Virgin. Marussia and Glock parted ways this month. The German driver tested a BMW touring car this week in Valencia and impressed the team immediately.
