Vettel's hometown celebrates 4th straight F1 title

HEPPENHEIM, Germany (AP) — Sebastian Vettel's fourth straight Formula One championship has been greeted with euphoria in his hometown of Heppenheim in south-western Germany.

Around 3,500 fans gathered in front of a big screen to watch the 26-year-old win the Indian Grand Prix on Sunday, celebrating wildly as Vettel became the youngest driver to win four world titles. Fan club chairman Alex Moeller tells the DPA news agency, "the atmosphere is awesome. We're all cheering him. Vettel was masterful as always."

Vettel claimed the title with three races to spare, becoming the third driver to win four consecutive championships after F1 greats Juan Miguel Fangio and Michael Schumacher. Alain Prost was the only other driver to win four championships.
