Lazio beats Catania 3-0 to reach Cup semifinals

ROME (AP) — Already performing well in Serie A, Lazio advanced to the Italian Cup semifinals Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Catania.

Romania defender Stefan Radu put Lazio ahead in the 30th minute at the Stadio Olimpico with a header from a corner, and Brazil playmaker Hernanes scored twice, in the 61st and 90th, getting set up both times by Sergio Floccari.

Lazio will next face AC Milan or Juventus, who play Wednesday. In the other quarterfinals next week, Inter Milan hosts Bologna and Roma visits Fiorentina. Lazio is second in Serie A, five points behind Juventus.

Coach Vladimir Petkovic rested Lazio's top scorer Miroslav Klose, and didn't even put him on the bench. The semifinals later this month include home and away matches. The final is scheduled for May 26.
