Reina sidelined by double injury blow

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has undergone surgery on a nose he broke in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United last weekend.

Reina was hurt when he collided with Shinji Kagawa in the second half of Sunday's game at Old Trafford, causing him to miss the 5-0 thrashing of Norwich on Saturday when Brad Jones deputized. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers also says Reina has been struggling with a thigh injury and is battling to be fit for the FA Cup fourth-round match at Oldham on Jan. 27.

Rodgers says "we'll see how he is by next week and review it from there."
