Celtic beats Hearts 4-1, stays in control of SPL

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — Scotland striker Gary Hooper scored twice as Celtic beat Hearts 4-1 to stay nine points clear in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.

Hooper, who has been linked with a number of English Premier League clubs in the January transfer window, was joined on the score sheet by Georgios Samaras and Lassad Nouioui in Celtic's easy win at Parkhead.

Inverness continues to lead the chasing pack after beating Aberdeen 3-0, with Billy McKay grabbing two goals. Ross County pulled two points further clear of last-place Dundee — extending the gap to 11 points — by winning 4-1 at St. Mirren. Dundee drew 1-1 at fourth-place Hibernian.
