Bale wonder goal earns Spurs a point

NORWICH, England (AP) — Gareth Bale scored a sensational solo goal to earn Tottenham a 1-1 draw at Norwich, ensuring the visitors stayed fourth in the English Premier League.

The Wales winger moved to 10 goals for the campaign after running with the ball from inside his own half, cutting inside and smashing a rising shot into the corner from just inside the area in the 80th minute.

Wes Hoolahan put Norwich ahead in the 32nd, turning a finish home from eight yards (meters) from Anthony Pilkington's cut-back. A third straight draw saw Spurs' grip on the final Champions League spot loosen, with Everton just a point behind in fifth after its win over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.

Lewis Holtby made his debut for Tottenham as a second-half substitute.
