GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — Celtic stretched its lead in the Scottish Premier League to 15 points with a 4-1 thrashing of Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
The champions recovered from their shock loss to St. Mirren in the League Cup semifinals last weekend thanks to goals by Joe Ledley, Anthony Stokes and a double from Adam Matthews at Parkhead. With second-place Inverness losing 2-1 at St. Mirren, Celtic appears ready to coast to a successful defense of its title.
Hibernian missed a chance to draw level on points with Inverness and third-place Motherwell by losing 1-0 at Ross County.
