Sporting Lisbon wins 3-2 at Gil Vicente

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Sporting Lisbon won 3-2 at Gil Vicente thanks to substitute Diego Capel's second-half goal in the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Armindo "Bruma" Bangna gave Sporting the lead with a goal in the game's opening minute, and defender Tiago Ilori doubled the visitors' advantage five minutes later. But Gil Vicente rallied to level from two goals by striker Hugo Vieira in the 20th and 53rd.

Capel went on in the 59th and four minutes later scored a header against the flow of play to earn his team the much-needed three points. Sporting rose into seventh place with its disappointing record of five wins in 19 rounds.
