VILLARREAL, Spain (AP) — Villarreal has signed midfielder Tomas Pina and Slovenia international Bojan Jokic to reinforce its squad for its return to Spain's first division this season.
Pina has agreed to a five-year contract with Villarreal after the 25-year-old holding midfielder ended his seven-year stint with Mallorca. Jokic, a defender, signed a four-year contract following his transfer from Italian club Chievo Verona. He played for Slovenia in the 2010 World Cup.
Villarreal also said on Friday that former Levante and Getafe attacking midfielder Pedro Rios would start practicing with his new team. Villarreal earned promotion last season after spending one campaign in the second division.
