ISTANBUL (AP) — Galatasaray says it has parted ways with coach Fatih Terim after he rejected a two-year contract extension.
Terim is one of Turkey's best known coaches. Last month, he took over as coach of Turkey's national team for the third time. Galatasary's board of directors say they decided unanimously to terminate the contract after Terim rejected their offer, adding that the decision protected the club's values.
The board says "we would like to thank Mr. Terim for all his services and wish him all the best in his future career."
