Sporting held to 0-0 by Nacional, tied for lead

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Sporting Lisbon was held to 0-0 at home by Nacional on Saturday, leaving it in a three-way tie with FC Porto and Benfica at the top of the Portuguese league standings.

The three title rivals have a 10-point lead over nearest chaser Estoril. Sporting failed to match Porto's 4-0 win over Olhanense and Benfica's 2-0 victory at Setubal on Friday. Sporting, which remained unbeaten in eight home games this season, is in first place on goal difference. This is the first time it has been in the lead since it last won the title in 2002.

This is the last league round until Jan. 12.
