Yohan Blake runs 9.69 in 100 meters at Lausanne

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Yohan Blake matched the fastest 100-meter time run by anyone other than Usain Bolt, finishing in 9.69 seconds Thursday to win the Athletissima Diamond League meet.

Running into a slight headwind, Blake's 9.69 tied Bolt and Tyson Gay for the third-best time ever. The mark trails only Bolt, who holds the two fastest times — his world record of 9.58 and the 9.63 he ran earlier this month to win gold at the London Olympics. Bolt was the first to run 9.69; he set the world record with that time at the Beijing Olympics.

Blake took .06 seconds off his personal best, which he ran while finishing second to Bolt in London. In Thursday's race, Gay finished second to Blake in 9.83.
