We process the following data collected from mail.com's email:

  • Account data: Information you shared with us during registration (name and date of birth, for example).
  • Content data: Content you actively use or create as a user. This includes emails, address book contacts, or files that you save in mail.com Cloud. We save this information so that it is available for your use. Email content is legally protected against third-party access and is subject to secrecy of telecommunications regulations.
  • Usage data: All information generated when using a service. This data is deleted after usage has ended, in accordance with the law.
  • Traffic data: Information that is generated while using the email service (date and time of access or delivery, or the IP address of the device used to access your inbox, for example).

In Data Protection & Advertisements you can find configuration options to control interest-based advertisements and newsletter settings.
It is not possible to revoke the use of traffic data, as it is needed to provide you with our services.

We use an automatic, standardized analysis of procedures to improve the user experience for our products, websites, and applications. If you don’t want your data to be used for analysis purposes, you can opt out of mail.com's Privacy Policy.

Saving personal data

Content and usage data is deleted after 180 days of inactivity. The email address registered at mail.com and the affiliated inbox is saved and later deleted in accordance with established legal periods.

If a user wishes to delete his or her inbox, all data and the user account will be deleted, provided it does not interfere with any other legally-established periods of safekeeping.

Content data is automatically deleted if you delete your files from Cloud (permanently from the trash) or after 180 days of an account’s inactivity.

If a user wishes to terminate his or her relationship with mail.com, all data and the account will be deleted, provided it does not interfere with any other legally established periods of safekeeping.

Local data is deleted by deleting the application from the end device.
