✓ What to do if you forgot your mail.com email address
Whether you’ve forgotten your password or you’re not completely sure of your own email address anymore, here's what you can do.
First, take a deep breath: A lot of the time, your password is saved somewhere
The good news? In many cases, you won’t need to reset your password.
Why? Because browsers and apps often save your login credentials automatically, you often can find them with a bit of detective work. However, this only works if you saved them previously – usually by clicking “Save password” or “Save login information.”
How do I view a saved password in my browser?
Let’s say you’ve forgotten your mail.com password. First, let’s see whether your browser has saved it.
How do I view my mail.com password in my browser?
If you saved your password at some point, it should just take a few clicks to find it in your browser settings. The exact steps vary depending on the browser, but we’ll show you how it works in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari:
Firefox: Find saved mail.com password
- Open the ☰ menu in the upper-right corner
- Click Passwords
- Alternatively, in older browser versions, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Logins & Passwords > Saved Logins
- Search for mail.com
- Select the corresponding entry
- Click the eye icon to show the password
Note: To see your saved passwords in Firefox, you may be prompted to verify your identity using your device password, PIN, fingerprint, or primary password
Your password will be displayed.
Chrome: View your mail.com password
- Click the ⁝ three-dot menu in the upper-right corner
- Select Settings
- Go to Autofill and passwords > Google Password Manager
- Search for mail.com
- Select the corresponding entry
- Click the eye icon to show the password
Note: You may be prompted to verify your identity using your device password, PIN, fingerprint, or another authentication method.
Safari (Mac): View your mail.com password
- On newer Macs, open the Passwords app
- On older versions of macOS, go to Safari > Settings > Passwords
- Unlock your device using Touch ID or your Mac password
- Search for and select mail.com
- Your password will be displayed.
How to find saved passwords on your smartphone
You can also find your mail.com password on your phone, provided you previously logged in via the mobile website and saved your login information.
Android (Chrome): Find your mail.com password
- Open Chrome
- Tap the ⁝ three-dot menu > Settings
- Search for mail.com and select the corresponding entry.
- Tap the eye icon to reveal the password.
Note: Authentication (PIN, fingerprint, etc.) is usually required before your saved password will be shown.
Check your password in your iPhone’s Password Manager
As an alternative to your browser, you may also find your password in the Passwords app on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Passwords app.
- Unlock your device using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
- Search for and select mail.com.
- Tap the password field if it is hidden.
Note: If you don't see the Passwords app, go to Settings > Passwords instead.
What to do if your password is not saved anywhere
You checked your browser and your phone and your mail.com password isn’t saved anywhere. Now what can you do?
Did you save your mobile phone number or a secondary email address in your mail.com account settings? If so, you can go to https://password.mail.com/ to reset your mail.com password.
What to do if you forgot your mail.com email address
If you can’t even remember your mail.com email address exactly (yes, it happens – especially if it’s not your primary email account), things can get tricky – but not hopeless.
Try checking the saved logins in your browser as described in the instructions above. In many cases, your email address will be displayed along with your password – but only if you saved your username as well as the password at some point.
If that doesn't work, you can try
- Checking old emails in your other accounts (and if necessary, ask friends or family to look through their inboxes).
- Checking the password manager on your phone: You may have saved your mail.com login credentials there as well.
