New: Undo email sending in the mail.com Mail App for iOS

Who hasn’t been there? You quickly fire off an email and as soon as you hit send, you realize you forgot the attachment. Or there is an embarrassing typo. Or you didn’t really mean what you said. These regrets can now be a thing of the past!
If you use the mail.com mobile app on your iPhone, you have a little extra time to change your mind.

Changed your mind? You have several seconds to tap “Undo” and stop your email from sending!

What is Undo Sending?

As we probably have all learned the hard way, it is not really possible to get an email back after it’s been sent. So, if you misspell your recipient’s name or neglect to attach an important file, you have no choice but to send a sheepish follow-up a few minutes later.

Because those “oops” moments are all too common, the mail.com mobile app for iOS now has a built-in delay of several seconds after you tap “Send.” In other words, “undo email sending” is a brief window to take back that email you regret – for whatever reason.

How to use the undo email-sending function

No setup is needed to take advantage of this feature in the mail.com mobile app for iOS. Just make sure that your mail.com Mail App is up to date. There will always be a brief built-in delay before an email leaves your mailbox.

The Undo option works as follows:
  1. Open the mail.com Mail App on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Compose your email message as usual
  3. Tap Send in the upper right corner
  4. A light blue bar with the words Sending e-mail will appear at the bottom of your screen for approximately 5 seconds
  5. To stop your email from being sent, tap the Undo button in the lower right corner of the screen

When the “Undo” option is displayed, you can tap it quickly and your email will not go out.

If you tap Undo, the compose screen will open again so you can make your last-minute changes. Once you have edited the email to your satisfaction, tap Send again.

If you don’t tap Undo while the option is still visible, the email will be sent as usual.

Can I recall my email once the Undo button has disappeared?

Unfortunately, once the sending delay option is gone from your screen, it is no longer possible to stop your email from going out. After the brief “Undo” window, the message is transmitted to the server of the recipient’s email provider, where mail.com no longer has access to it.
